Borussia Monchengladbach rule out Guinea’s Traore indefinitely

Borussia Monchengladbach confirmed that Guinea international Ibrahima Traore suffered a ruptured muscle bundle in his thigh and will be unavailable until further notice.

The Bundesliga outfit disclosed that the National Elephants midfielder who has been invited for international duty will miss Guinea’s second leg clash against Libya on Monday.

Team doctor, Dr. Stefan Hertl, confirmed that Traore who has played just a league game for the Floars this season has a tear in the distal third of the musculus semimembranosus in his posterior right thigh.

“Ibrahima Traoré has contracted a muscle bundle rupture in his right thigh and falls out until further notice,” the statement reads on the club’s website.

“Actually, Ibrahima Traoré should have been preparing for the matches in the qualifying for the Africa Cup against Libya, in these days with the national team of Guinea.

“However, Borussia's offensive player has not travelled to his home country due to injuries. The 29-year-old has suffered a muscle bundle rupture in the posterior, right thigh.”

Guinea defeated Libya 3-2 at the Stade du 28 Septembre, Conakry on Thursday.
