Bidvest Wits have unveiled their new signings ahead of the 2018/19 Premier Soccer League (PSL) campaign.
Following a rather poor campaign, where they battled with the threat of relegation for most parts, the Students will be looking to bounce back and rediscover the form that saw them clinch their maiden league title in the 2016/17 season.
This has subsequently seen Wits coach Gavin Hunt, once again explore the transfer market in search of solutions.
With players such as Ben Motshwari, Daine Klate, James Keene, Nazeer Allie, Moeneeb Josephs and Vincent Pule among others having departed the Braamfontein-based club in the off season, Wits have wasted no time in filling the void, signing a whopping 11 players.
It was previously confirmed that Wits had signed Scottish striker Simon Murray from Scootish Premiership side Hibernian as they looked to bolster their attacking department, and on Thursday, the Students unveiled Murray along with a whole host of newer additions.
Hunt has certainly looked to bring in a blend of youth and experience at Wits as they also unveiled the signings of Haashim Domingo, Bantu Mzwakali, Terrence Dzvukamanja, Mxolisi Macuphu, Lehlohonolo Nonyane and hit-man Gift Motupa, along with more experienced heads such as Robyn Johannes, Deon Hotto and former Orlando Pirates keeper Brighton Mhlongo.
Wits have also captured the signature of former Mamelodi Sundowns player and veteran Vuyo Mere, following Platinum Stars’ recent relegation.
The Clever Boys are set to begin their new campaign on Saturday with a clash against Free State Stars at home, and Hunt will be hoping to get their season off to a winning start.
