Hawks FC coach, Amsumana Fatty has disclosed that they are not worried about the current form of Akwa United, their Caf Confederation Cup Preliminary round opponents.
In a chat with media on arrival at the Ibom International Airport, the tactician hinted that they were aware of the strength and weaknesses of the Promise Keepers and are ready to tackle them at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium.
“Nigeria are a footballing country and Akwa United are s a big club. They are top of their league, so we respect them,” Amsumana told media.
"But we are looking forward to the match on Sunday knowing that it will be a game played between 11 players and at the end the best team win.
“The Gambian league and the Nigerian league are not the same. We started poorly in the league but we are gradually picking up.
“We are here for the Caf Confederation Cup and it’s a different competition altogether. We have been preparing for the past two months so we are ready for Akwa United."
The skipper of the Gambian side, Omar Sarr revealed that they are not intimated by Akwa United and that they will be out to seek a good result that will make the return leg easier for them in Banjul in a fortnight.
“Since after the draws, we have heard a lot about Akwa United and we know that they are a good side," he told media.
"We have watched their videos online and they are playing almost the same pattern we play so, it will be an exciting match and we are ready to give them a good fight."
