The Miners boss has admitted that he is not enjoying the transfer window ahead of the new season

Ashanti Gold manager Charles Akunnor has revealed that he is not happy with the lack of signings ahead of the 2017-18 Ghana Premier League season which is scheduled to kick off in two months.

The Miners, who survived relegation on final day, have off-loaded 12 players that are yet to be replaced.

“I’m not frustrated with the lack of signings but I don’t want unnecessary stress. I want us to do things in a professional way to avoid any rush,” Akunnor told Fox FM.

“Once we do that, I don’t have any problem but I have given myself some timelines. If by that time they have still not ironed out things, I’ll quit.

“It is something I have made clear to them. I know the situation here but I want us to do things in a professional way and once they are able to do that, that’s all,” he added.

Akunnor was reported to have extended his contract with Ashanti Gold until 2019 but he has insisted that he is yet to conclude terms with the club.

“We have not concluded on anything. We are still having negotiations but I believe very soon things will be done,” he said.

Akunnor replaced Bashir Hayford who is currently in charge of Ebusua Dwarfs.
