“Pirates haven’t contacted me at all. I haven’t spoken to Pirates over Mahlambi. The player too, has not been contacted by the club,” Binkin told Far Post.
Reports on Tuesday stated that Bucs were looking to bring Mahlambi on-loan from his parent club Al Ahly, where he has yet to set the scene alight since arriving at the start of the season.
Binkin though, reveals that there have been clubs who have contacted him regarding the availability of the player, but Bucs is not one of them.
“So, you know that’s where it is at the moment. There are a number of clubs who have contacted me and Pirates is not one of them,” Binkin said.
He could be sent out on-loan, with the PSL his possible destination, as Binkin explains that the Cairo Red Devils wants to loan him to get more game time.
“He went there at the end of August and he missed the first two league games, because his international clearance wasn’t through yet, and after that they had 10 African club games and he was already cup tied because he played for Wits (in Caf) already. So, he wasn’t able to play for them. So, he’s sort of 12 games behind everybody,” Binkin said.
“So, when they started playing league games again around November, he was far behind everybody else in terms of match fitness. They do like him and they think he’s got a fantastic future, but at the moment they want him to get game time, because he’s lacking in that space at the moment,” Binkin added.
