Hoffenheim have confirmed on their official website that they are on the verge of signing Wolfsburg striker Srdjan Lakic on loan after agreeing terms with both club and player. The forward will sign a six-month loan deal upon completion of his medical.
The Sinsheim side were in the market for a new striker because of the departure of Vedad Ibisevic to Stuttgart, and head coach Holger Stanislawski looks like he has got his man.
The 28-year-old Lakic joined Wolfsburg from Kaiserslautern in the summer of 2011, but failed to make an impact at the Wolfe. Lakic made 10 Bundesliga appearances for Wolfsburg, without finding the net.
Lakic will now try to relaunch his career at Hoffenheim, as they look to qualify for European football in the second half of the season.
Hoffe currently sit eighth in the Bundesliga table with 23 points from 19 matches.
