Napoli boss Benitez hopes for 2014 success

The Partenopei boss sets his sights towards achieving the club's ambitious goals when Serie A resumes in the New Year and aims to meet the expectations of their fans
Napoli coach Rafa Benitez is keen to bring success to the club in 2014 as they bid to win their first Serie A title in over 20 years.

The Partenopei are back in training following the Christmas break, as they prepare to face Sampdoria on January 6 at the Stadio San Paolo.

The 53-year-old told the club's official website: "We hope to bring ourselves everything we want [in 2014] and achieve our goals and those of the fans."

Benitez also had praise for his squad and their professionalism as the focus switches to football following the holidays.

"After the Christmas break we are back at work [on Monday] afternoon to begin preparing for our commitments," he continued, "[starting with] the game against Sampdoria at the resumption of the championship."

Napoli currently sit in third place in the Serie A table, 10 points behind leaders Juventus.

The New Year will see also see them return to European competition following their exit from the Champions League group stage. Benitez's side will travel to Swansea City for a Europa League last-32 tie on the February 20 before the second leg a week later.
