Masters Football Asia will be back in Singapore on 12 November featuring the clash between England and Germany legends.
Joining Teddy Sheringham for the England side will be two of his squad mates from the 1996 European Football Championship – Steve McManaman and Darren Anderton.
The addition of Emile Heskey and Des Walker will strengthen the team and more names for the England squad will be announced at a later stage.
Sharing his excitement on being part of the England Masters, Sheringham said, “Representing England is always a great honour and my games with the team have all been so memorable. It’s a brilliant opportunity for us to get together and play for England again, especially against such a great team like Germany. I’m really looking forward to it.”
Germany brings with them their most prolific player, Lothar Matthaus who was named the first ever FIFA World Player of the Year – the only German to win this award.
Joining him on the team are; fellow World Cup winner, defender Guido Buchwald and member of the 1996 European Championship squad, Thomas Häßler.
Former Bayern Leverkusen defender Jens Nowotny and Singapore regular Dietmar Hamann are further additions to the team.
Hamann, who will return to play in Singapore commented, “It’s always fantastic to come back here and hopefully I can be of even more advantage to the team given my previous experiences in Singapore. I can’t wait to be on the pitch again and face off against Steve (McManaman) instead of playing alongside him at the National Stadium!”
