Francis Jeffers not yet a DPMM player

The ex-England international is still not yet a Brunei DPMM FC player despite ongoing discussion with the player's agent
Former Everton and Arsenal forward has yet to sign with S.League side Brunei DPMM, Ali Hj Momin, the team manager has confirmed in an interview with The Brunei Times.

Jeffers was believed to have signed on a two-year deal after reports emerged on Twitter, including a Tweet from the player's agent on Monday.

The player remained tight-lipped on his situation but last annonced via his official Twitter page that he was heading home to his family.

“There were talks between the club and his agent, but that’s about it, there is no deal yet,” Ali Hj Momin told The Brunei Times.

“He is still recovering from injury so it is a bit difficult to decide now. But we’ve still got time before the S.League (Singapore League) starts in February and we will keep the fans updated with new developments in the club."

The former England international who has been on trial with the S.League side under new coach Steve Kean, reportedly pulled up with an injury during a training session.

The new season of the S.League will likely commence in February, 2014.
