Shahdan recalled to Singapore squad

The Tampines Rovers playmaker is believed to be the replacement for injured Lions captain Shahril Ishak and will relish the chance to be involved in the international fray again
Tampines Rovers star Shahdan Sulaiman has been included in the Singapore national team again after initially missing out when the latest squad was announced.

The 25-year-old playmaker will link up with the Lions for their upcoming friendlies against China and Hong Kong, with the news of his recall being announced by the Stags on their Facebook page around midnight on Friday.

His call up by coach Bernd Stange is believed to be a result of captain Shahril Ishak's withdrawal due to a hip injury, which has ruled the LionsXII midfielder out of their remaining three Malaysia Cup games.

Shahdan was omitted from the German's team for the recent AFC 2015 Asian Cup qualifier against Oman, which the Lions lost 2-0 at home, after three consecutive years in the side.
