Several Malaysian clubs have set their eyes on LionsXII defender Baihakki Khaizan following his immaculate performances with the newly crowned Malaysian Super League (MSL) champions.
Numerous reports across the Causeway have indicated that the Singapore international has agreed verbally to join moneybags Johor Darul Takzim (JDT) for the 2014 season.
But the former Geylang International player insisted that talk of his imminent transfer to the Southern Tigers are mere rumours.
“All this speculation about going to JDT or wherever is not really 100 per cent," Baihakki said during a Singapore Pools meet-and-greet event on Tuesday.
“For now, I am concentrating on my contract here but as players we've got to carry on with life and move ahead."
With his contract running out at the end of the current season, Baihakki knows that he can’t escape from the supporters' and media's attention alike, who all want to know his next move.
But the 29-year-old insisted that he remained focused on the task at hand and will work out his future in due course.
“That decision will come in later, and as professionals we got to carry on what is being part of us right now," Baihakki said.
“The most important thing right now is on the Malaysia Cup; put other issues aside and I will settle that later.”
Thai Premier League side Bangkok Glass had previously made a move for Baihakki earlier in the year but the transfer did not materialise as the player was still under contract with the LionsXII.
