LionsXII FA Cup tie against Pahang shifted to earlier date

The Lions XII vs Pahang and JDT vs T-Team FA Cup ties has been move forward to 1st of February, due to Singapore's involvement in Asia Cup Qualification

The LionsXII will take on Pahang FA in the FA Cup this Saturday after the fixture was pushed forward to an earlier date due to a clash with Singapore's AFC Asian Cup qualifier against Jordan.

The head of the Local Tournament Committee of Football Association of Malaysia (FAM), Mohd Shazli Shaik Mohd, has confirmed that two of the eight FA Cup second-round matches will be played on February 1, while the other six remain on February 4.

The other game affected is that between Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) and T-Team.

“Not all, only two matches because it involves the venue as Singapore will play Jordan at Jalan Besar Stadium, and secondly because two JDT import players are involved in that match (Harriss Harun and Baihakki Khaizan)," Shazli told Utusan

The LionsXII have already met Pahang in the season opener this year, going down 1-0 away in Fandi Ahmad's first game in charge.

Shazli also indicated that Selangor FA will continue to play evening matches while Shah Alam Stadium is still undergoing renovation work, with the upgrading work of the spotlights in MBPJ Stadium only expected to be completed in April.

JDT will play in their first FA Cup game this season after receiving a bye in the first round together with Kelantan FA, who will face Sabah FA in the second round.
