Noh Alam Shah is supposedly set to make a return to the S.League with Tampines Rovers to boost the squad the squad after the confirmed departure of Khairul Amri.
Flamboyant forward Khairul Amri confirmed his departure to LionsXII recently and Alam Shah was mentioned as a possible replacement for him by evergreen striker Aleksandar Duric in an interview with Goal Singapore.
“We [have] replaced him already, we have [Noh] Alam Shah, very good replacement,” Duric told Goal Singapore when asked who is a possible replacement for the outgoing Amri.
Duric added that he was looking forward to playing alongside the former Singapore international and believes the striker can regain his form to earn a recall to the national team.
“He is more than good enough to replace Khairul Amri," Duric said in a convinced manner.
"I mean, he is a legend coming back to our club and he was a legend before he moved to Indonesia. He played for so many years in Tampines and I am really looking forward playing with him.
“I am really looking forward to seeing him back in the national team because I personally believe that he can be back again and can play at the best level [like] he did before he moved to Indonesia.”
Despite Alam Shah suffering a barren-goal spell in the S.League in his last spell with the Stags, Duric believed a good pre-season is all he needs to start going on a goal-scoring spree again.
“He just needs to have a good pre-season and I am looking forward to him making goals because you don’t really forget him scoring goals," he explained.
Alam Shah is reportedly a free agent following his release by Indonesian club PSS Sleman in July earlier this year and if he does make a return to the S.League with Tampines Rovers, it will be his third time at the club in his career.
