Real Madrid are next in action on Friday against their rivals Atletico Madrid at MetLife Stadium. Arsenal's involvement in the International Champions Cup now ends. They travel back to London, taking on Lyon in the Emirates Cup at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.
Real Madrid complete a second-half comeback to defeat Arsenal on penalties in this International Champions Cup clash. The Gunners were looking good at the break, holding a 2-0 lead through goals from Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Both teams had players sent off in the first half as Nacho Fernandez and Sokratis Papastathopoulos were dismissed for two bookable offences. The introduction of Gareth Bale brought an impact in the second half just a day after Zinedine Zidane said the Welshman's future lay away from the Bernabeu. Bale poked home from close range before Marco Asensio fired a strike past Emiliano Martinez at his near post. Both teams had chances to win the game, but neither could capitalise. The contest went to a penalty shootout where Madrid's players held their nerve as Robbie Burton was the unfortunate party to miss the decisive kick. Madrid have their first win of the International Champions Cup, while Arsenal end their campaign on a low note.
FULL-TIME: REAL MADRID 2-2 ARSENAL (Real Madrid win 3-2 on penalties)
OVER! Burton has to score to keep the shootout alive. However, he loses his composure blazing his effort over the bar. 2-3.
Vinicius puts Madrid ahead as his strike creeps beneath the body of Martinez to find the net. 2-3.
OFF THE POST! Monreal sends Courtois the wrong way, but sees his effort clatter off the post. 2-2.
Varane is next up for Madrid. The Frenchman goes high and hammers his effort into the net. 2-2.
Saka steps forward for the Gunners. He holds his nerve from 12 yards, drilling a left-footed strike into the net. 2-1.
Isco gets Madrid on the board in the shootout. He powers his effort into the bottom corner away from the outstretched hand of Martinez. 1-1.
SAVE! Xhaka puts a low strike straight at Courtois, who makes the stop with ease. That looked a tired kick. 1-0.
SAVE! Bale steps up for Madrid, but his attempt to fool Martinez fails. He places his kick straight the Arsenal keeper. 1-0.
Nelson sees his first kick stopped by the referee. He holds his composure with his second effort, finding the bottom corner. 1-0.
Arsenal are first up from the spot. Here comes Nelson.

86' Bale has space down the left and he looks for Isco on the edge of the box. However, Burton is well placed to nudge the Spaniard off the ball before he can fire at goal.

76' OFF THE LINE & OVER! Bale comes to the rescue at the other end for Madrid as he clears Chambers' low strike off the line. A corner causes chaos in the Madrid box and the defender pulls the trigger on a low strike. However, the Welshman is well placed on the post to clear the danger. 59' GOALLLLLLLLLLLL!!!! MADRID ARE LEVEL!!! ASENSIO SCORES!!! 2-2!! The Spanish outfit get the equaliser as Asensio drills the ball past Martinez at the near post. G. Bale
56' GOALLLLLLLLLLLL!!!! BALE GETS MADRID BACK INTO THE GAME!!! 2-1!!! Well, well, well. Bale gets Madrid on the scoreboard as he latches on to a loose ball into the box and pokes his effort into the net. Madrid open up the Arsenal defence down the left flank through Marcelo and Isco. The latter fires a low cross into the middle that Asensio and Martinez battle for. The forward gets the better of the duel to knock the ball loose. Bale pounces on it and finds the back of the net. He could be proving a point here to Zidane.
54' Kroos sweeps the resulting corner into the box and Ramos connects with a strike, but it's not powerful enough to beat Martinez.

Madrid's sloppy start to their pre-season campaign continued in the first half. Zinedine Zidane will not be happy with the standard of their defending and will be demanding an improvement after the break. Emery will be satisfied with the Gunners' performance, although the dismissal of Sokratis saw their control of the contest slip towards the end of the half. The second period will be a test of Arsenal's resilience.
It has been an eventful first half at FedEx Field, but Arsenal hold a 2-0 lead over Real Madrid at the break in this International Champions Cup clash. The Gunners went ahead through Alexandre Lacazette from the penalty spot after he saw his effort blocked on the line by the hand of Nacho Fernandez. The Madrid defender was dismissed and the Frenchman converted the spot-kick. Unai Emery's men doubled their advantage when Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang combined, with the latter rounding Keylor Navas before finding the net. Arsenal were reduced to 10 men when Sokratis Papastathopoulos was sent off for two bookable offences in quick succession. Madrid tried to capitalise, but Karim Benzema hit the post before the interval, still leaving the Spanish outfit with a two-goal deficit.
45' There will be one minute of added time.

42' BLOCK! Hazard weaves his way downfield and offloads to the right flank. Kroos lines up a strike from the edge of the box, only to see his drive hit Hazard and travel behind for a goal-kick.
40' Sokratis is sent off for a second bookable offence. The defender blocks off Modric on the charge and the midfielder goes down. The Madrid players surround the referee and he hands out a second yellow card to the Arsenal defender. He's not happy with the decision and he has reason to be.
S. Papastathopoulos
Yellow Card
38' Sokratis is booked for pulling back Kroos on the charge through the middle of the park.
37' OVER! Lacazette should do better as he clips his volley over the bar. Ozil threads the needle from the left flank to pick out the forward in the box. He takes one touch to control, but can only slice his strike harmlessly into the stand.
36' Jenkinson latches on to Ozil's pass down the right inside channel, but Navas does well to divert his low cross away from danger.
34' The Spanish outfit win another free-kick in a dangerous position as Xhaka handles the ball. However, Jenkinson rises to head away the delivery from Kroos with relative ease.
32' Modric floats a dangerous free-kick into the box from the right flank, which just evades the head of Ramos in the middle. Chambers scrambles to clear the danger and it deflects back off the Madrid captain before falling into the hands of Martinez.
31' Arsenal are looking dangerous every time they push forward. Madrid have been off the pace from the off. Zidane will not be pleased with his side.
29' Modric finds space in the Arsenal half and he turns to fire at goal from distance on his left foot. The veteran midfielder's effort is no good, sailing harmlessly over the bar.

Lacazette turns the ball around the corner and his strike partner peels off Ramos with ease. Aubameyang rounds Navas before firing his effort past the Madrid captain attempting to make the block on the line. A fine goal from the Gunners.
23' Mendy uses his express speed down the left inside channel to beat the challenge of Jenkinson. He tries to fire the ball low towards the near post, although Martinez is able to gather with ease.
21' Carvajal tries a one-two with Benzema, but then goes down in the box under pressure from Kolasinac. However, there was little contact between the two players as the Madrid man appeals for a penalty.

R. Varane
L. Jović
16' Jovic has to make way to allow his side to re-shuffle their defence. Varane replaces the forward.
14' SAVE! Madrid are all over the place at the back. Vazquez takes a poor first touch and Mkhitaryan fires a low strike towards goal that is brilliantly saved by Navas before the Spanish side clear their lines.
12' OVER! Arsenal probe down the left flank through Kolasinac, who cuts the ball back to Mkhitaryan. The Armenian goes for a first-time strike, but he flashes his drive over the bar.
A. Lacazette
Penalty Goal
10' GOALLLLLLLLLLLLL!!! LACAZETTE CONVERTS! 1-0!!! Arsenal take the lead from the penalty spot as the Frenchman finds the net. Lacazette powers his strike towards the bottom corner. It hits the inside of the left post before rolling across and striking the right inside post before finally rolling over the line. Unconventional, but the Gunners are ahead.
9' Nacho receives a second booking for deliberate handball and is sent off.
8' PENALTY TO ARSENAL! Xhaka cuts open the Madrid defence with a jinking run. He offloads to Lacazette, who rounds Navas. The forward strikes a low effort towards goal, but his effort is blocked on the line by Nacho. However, the referee spots that the defender uses his hand to stop the shot crossing the line and awards the penalty.
7' Willock puts pressure on the Madrid defence, forcing a mistake from Carvajal. The midfielder takes possession and goes for a strike at goal, but his attempt lacks power and Navas makes a comfortable save.
6' SAVE! Ozil powers a strike at goal from the resulting free-kick, but Navas does well to react to beat the ball away. Willock tries to force a shot through a crowd of bodies, only to be denied by a wall of Madrid defenders.
Yellow Card
5' Nacho is booked for his clumsy challenge on Kolasinac.
5' Nacho allows a long ball over the top to bounce over his shoulder. Kolasinac breaks in behind the defender, and is caught by the boot as the Madrid man attempts to clear his lines. Arsenal are awarded a free-kick on the edge of the box.

Maitland-Niles, Willock, Mkhitaryan, Ozil, Xhaka, Aubemenyang and Lacazette  all return to the fold for Emery today.
Zidane has made five changes to his starting line-up from Madrid's defeat to Bayern last time out. Navas replaces Courtois between the sticks, while Nacho and Mendy come into the back four.
