Commentary

That's all from us today folks, we hope you enjoyed the game!
This victory keeps Wales in contention in Group E, sitting third on six points, three ahead of Belarus in fourth. They face bottom-of-the-group Estonia next on Wednesday, while Belarus face Belgium.
Wales come from behind to beat Belarus, thanks to a hat-trick from Bale. They found themselves 2-1 down at the break, despite going ahead after just five minutes thanks to a Bale penalty. Belarus then won a penalty of their own and Lisakovich converted to level the game, before Sedko made it 2-1 just a minute later. Wales had to work hard in the second half and won another penalty, which Bale scored to make it 2-2. It looked like it would finish as a draw, but Bale popped up in stoppage time to nick a late winner and it finished 3-2.
90' + 6' FULL-TIME: BELARUS 2-3 WALES
90' + 5' Surely there isn't enough time left on the clock for Belarus to get another goal? There are just a few seconds left to play now!
D. James
Assist
90' + 3' Despite being under pressure, James looked up and spotted Bale in space and his team-mate did the rest with a superb finish.
G. Bale
Goal
90' + 3' GOAL! Bale has a hat-trick and he’s surely won it for Wales in stoppage time! They lead 3-2! Harris has a great chance to start off with, but his effort it blocked on the line. However, Harris picks up the rebound and lays it back to James, who then crosses to Bale, who volleys it towards the bottom right corner of the net. Chernik gets a touch on it, but he can't stop it from going in and it trickles over the line.
90' + 2' Wales are pushing plenty of players forward now in search of a winner in stoppage time, but it looks like time is running out for them and it may finish 2-2.
90' There will be a minimum of four minutes added time played at the end of the second half.
M. Skavysh
V. Lisakovich
90' Late Belarus change, with Lisakovich heading off and he has been replaced by Skavysh.
88' SAVE! Lisakovich gets away from Mepham in the box and works space for the shot, but Ward makes himself big and produces an excellent save to tip the ball over the crossbar and away from danger.
88' Decent chance! Bale steps up to take a free-kick from around 25 yards out and he gets it up and over the wall, but the ball flies wide of the right post.
87' Free-kick in a good position here after Podstrelov fouls Morrell around 25 yards out and it hands Wales and Bale a decent shooting chance.
84' The pace of the game has dropped slightly in the last few minutes, with both teams looking like they don't want to take a risk and push players forward in search of a third goal.
82' Wales need to be careful that they aren't caught out at the back by a late Belarus counter-attack, as the hosts still look threatening on the break.
80' We're into the final 10 minutes of the game now, can either side score a late winning goal to clinch all three points?
G. Shevchenko
R. Begunov
78' Another Belarus change now, with Begunov replaced by Shevchenko.
78' CLOSE! Belarus almost get another! Bykov is given far too much time and space on the edge of the penalty area and he powers an effort towards the top right corner of the net. However, it flies just wide of the post, with Ward scrambling across his goal.
76' PENALTY SHOUT! Bale appeals for another penalty after Harris whips a cross in from the left and Bale battles for it with Zolotov and falls to the ground. However, there isn't much contact and Bale goes down a bit too easily. Nothing given and VAR agree.
75' Prior to today's game, Wales had scored just nine goals in their last 16 away games, scoring more than once on just one occasion in that run.
R. Yuzepchuk
P. Sedko
73' Double substitution now by Belarus, with Sedko one of those to come off and he has been replaced by Uzepchuk.
D. Podstrelov
M. Ebong
73' The other change sees Ngome head off and he has been replaced by Podstrelov.
72' Decent effort! The ball drops nicely for Bale around 25 yards out and he fires a volley towards goal, but he gets too much on it and it flies well wide of the Belarus goal.
71' Wales are pushing forward in numbers now in search of a winning goal, they are on top and are forcing their opponents to sit deep and soak up the pressure.
G. Bale
Penalty Goal
69' GOAL! Wales are level as Bale converts from the penalty spot once again, it's 2-2! Bale alters his run-up and waits for the keeper to make his move, before sending the ball into the other side the net. Great finish.
68' WALES PENALTY! Another penalty for Wales after Davies goes up for a header in the box and Ngome leans in and pushes the left-back, sending him to the floor. No hesitation from the referee, who points to the spot once again.
67' There is still plenty of time left to play here, but Belarus look very comfortable and good value for their 2-1 lead, with Wales struggling to break their opponents down.
65' A few players have struggled with the surface today, it's breaking up very easily and the ball isn't moving quickly on the floor, making it difficult to put a few passes together.
J. Williams
B. Johnson
63' Another change for Wales now, with Johnson heading off the pitch and he has been replaced by Williams.
61' As it stands, Belarus would move up to third on six points with a victory, while Wales would drop to fourth on three points, making it very difficult for Wales to qualify.
59' Wales have only won six of their last 29 away World Cup qualifiers (D8 L15) and were beaten 3-1 by Belgium in their first away match of this qualifying phase.
M. Harris
R. Colwill
57' Wales have made their first substitution of the game, with Colwill the man coming off and he has been replaced by Harris.
56' Bale is now back on the pitch and looks like he will be fine to continue. Good news for Wales.
55' Injury worry here for Wales as Bale is receiving some treatment on a knee injury, after the pitch gives way as he crosses the ball into the box. It looks like a painful one.
53' Almost! Colwill and Johnson play a quick one-two in the box, with the latter trying to work the space for a shot, but Belarus get defenders back and clear the danger.
51' SAVE! Johnson picks up the ball on the edge of the penalty area and has time and space to pick his spot, firing it towards the top right corner of the net. However, Chernik gets across and makes a superb diving save to tip it over the bar.
49' James has looked lively down the left wing for Wales in the opening few minutes of the second half, getting a few crosses into the box, but no-one is there to get on the end of them.
47' No changes for either side at the break, but it will be interesting to see how long Wales wait before making some, as they need to try and get back into this game quickly.
46' The second half is under way!
Wales have it all to do to get back into the game, after Belarus had a couple of excellent chances to extend their lead even further, with Sachivko and Klimovich going close.
Belarus come from behind to lead 2-1 at the break, after Bale had fired Wales into the lead from the penalty spot after just five minutes. Wales looked the better team, keeping possession well and going on the front foot, but they couldn’t find a second goal and Belarus have capitalised. They also scored a penalty, with Lisakovich converting on 29 minutes, after Gunter had fouled Zolotov, before Sedko made it 2-1 just a minute later after a quick counter.
45' + 2' HALF-TIME: BELARUS 2-1 WALES
45' + 1' CHANCE! Another Belarus chance after a quick counter! They work it really well in the box and Bykov tries to work space for the shot, but can't find the right angle, so flicks it to Klimovich, who fools Lawrence and then tries to curl the ball into the top left corner of the net. However, it flies inches past the post.
45' There will be a minimum of two minutes added time played at the end of the first half.
43' Belarus are in possession at the moment and look comfortable, with Wales unable to win it back and create anything in front of goal before half-time.
41' Belarus – 4-2 winners over Estonia in March – are looking to win back-to-back home World Cup qualifying matches within the same campaign for the first time since March 2001, winning three in a row in a run that started with a home win over Wales.
39' There isn’t long left to play before the end of the first half, can Wales find an equaliser before the half-time whistle?
37' Wales need to regroup and go again, as they are really struggling to get anything going in attack at the moment. They started so brightly, but have allowed Belarus back into the game.
35' CHANCE! Belarus almost make it 3-1! A corner is whipped into the box from the right and Sachivko meets it in the six-yard box, powering a diving header towards the bottom right corner of the net. However, he was under a lot of pressure from Lawrence and somehow sends the ball wide of the post.
34' Wales don't look comfortable at the back at the moment, they seem to have lost their confidence and Belarus are capitalising on this, stretching them on the counter.
32' Wales have been the better side for the most part, but they've been undone by two goals in the space of a minute and now have it all to do to get back into the game.
V. Lisakovich
Assist
30' Lisakovich this time provides the assist, drawing in Mepham and then flicking it out to his left to Sedko, who was in a better position and his team-mate converted.
P. Sedko
Goal
30' GOAL! Belarus have turned the game around and now they lead 2-1! Wales lose the ball in the middle of the pitch and the hosts counter quickly, with Lisakovich racing in behind Lawrence, before getting to the penalty area and laying it across to Sedko, who only had Ward to beat. Sedko made no mistakes with the finish, firing it past Ward to send Belarus ahead.
V. Lisakovich
Penalty Goal
29' GOAL! Lisakovich converts from the penalty spot and makes it 1-1! The striker produces a fine finish to power the ball into the bottom left corner of the net, with Ward diving the right way, but he couldn't quite reach it.
27' VAR are taking a look at the penalty decision, to make sure it is the right call as there may be a handball by Zolotov, but it looks like the penalty will stand. Great chance for Belarus to equalise.
C. Gunter
Yellow Card
27' Gunter is booked for his high challenge on Zolotov that led to the Belarus penalty.
26' BELARUS PENALTY! Gunter lets a long ball over the top bounce in the penalty area and this allows Zolotov time to sneak in and Gunter then has to stretch and flick the ball away with a high boot. It doesn't look like he catches the Belarus man, but it was a dangerous challenge and the referee points to the spot.
25' Wales have won four of their five games against Belarus in all competitions (L1), with their only defeat in this run coming the last time they faced them away from home in September 2000 in a World Cup qualifier, losing 2-1 in Minsk.
23' The pace of the game has dropped in the last couple of minutes, with Belarus seeing a bit more of the ball, with Wales dropping off and looking comfortable with their lead.
21' Decent effort! James cuts in from the left wing, finds space on the edge of the penalty area and he powers a shot towards the bottom right corner of the net. However, it flies just wide of the post.
19' It will be interesting to see if the early goal by Wales will see Belarus change their game plan at all, as they'll have to push forward at some point to try and grab a goal.
17' Good counter! Bale just manages to keep himself onside after being played in behind by Colwill and the Real Madrid man latches onto the ball and tries to find Johnson in the box, but his cross is well cut out by Shvetsov.
15' Belarus are trying to sit deep in their 4-5-1 formation, which is forcing Wales back at times as they are unable to find the space in midfield to find the likes of Bale and James.
13' Prior to this game Bale hadn't scored in any of his last 12 competitive appearances for Wales, but he had provided seven assists in that run.
A. Bykov
Yellow Card
11' Bykov is booked after a late challenge on Mepham, with the centre-back playing the ball quickly and the Belarus midfielder caught him.
10' Belarus have hardly touched the ball so far, with Wales controlling possession and they are pressing high, keeping the hosts penned back inside their own half.
8' CHANCE! James whips a low corner into the box from the left and Bale tries to meet it at the near post, but misses it and the ball falls to Allen around the penalty spot, who fires an effort towards goal. However, it is too close to Chernik and he makes a good save.
7' It is all Wales at the moment in the opening few minutes of the game, they are causing their opponents a lot of problems and look eager to double their lead early on.
G. Bale
Penalty Goal
5' GOAL! Bale fires Wales ahead from the penalty spot and it's 1-0 after five minutes! The skipper steps up to take the penalty and coolly slots the ball into the bottom right corner of the net, sending the keeper the wrong way.
S. Chernik
Yellow Card
4' Chernik is also booked for his foul on Bale that has handed Wales an early chance to open the scoring.
4' WALES PENALTY! The ball is flicked over the top of the Belarus defence and Bale gets onto the end of it, nicking it past Chernik, who raced off his line and the keeper then clatters into Bale, clearly bringing him down. The referee immediately points to the spot.
3' Wales will be looking to get off to an early start here and they've started on the front foot, getting on the ball and working it into the final third.
1' We're under way!
The teams are out on the pitch and kick-off is just a few minutes away, stay tuned for all the match action!
