That's all from this one. West Ham move into the third round after a tough evening. Thanks for joining us and, until next time, goodbye!
West Ham had to bide their time, but they have their first win of the season. Diop, Ogbonna and Hernandez got the goals.
Wimbledon worked hard and led through Pigott in the opening two minutes, but it was always going to be a tough ask after McDonald was sent off.
90' + 3' FULL-TIME: AFC Wimbledon 1 West Ham 3
A. Masuaku
Assist
West Ham United
90' + 2' Masuaku supplies the pass after Wimbledon throw men forward in one final attack.
J. Hernández
Goal
West Ham United
90' + 2' GOAL!! Hernandez puts the result beyond doubt! 3-1 to West Ham! The striker runs clear, rounding the goalkeeper, and shoots through the recovering Nightingale.
90' + 1' There will be three minutes of added time and West Ham, it would appear, plan to keep the ball throughout.
A. Masuaku
A. Yarmolenko
West Ham United
90' SUB: A difficult evening concludes for Yarmolenko. The Wimbledon fans seem to be mocking his price tag as he is replaced by Masuaku. West Ham at least have the lead now.
88' Wimbledon hurl the ball into the box, but Appiah is offside. They will not have many more opportunities.
87' Antonio centres and Yarmolenko cannot shoot on goal. There's no West Ham player waiting on the edge of the box this time. Pellegrini's men are showing a slightly more cautious approach as Wimbledon look to throw men forward.
85' Antonio races forward and a deflected shot is straight at King. The game is very open now, with Wimbledon seeking an equaliser.
R. Snodgrass
Assist
West Ham United
83' It's Snodgrass' delivery which finds Ogbonna, surely putting the game beyond Wimbledon.
A. Ogbonna
Goal
West Ham United
83' GOAL!! Is that the winner for West Ham?! Ogbonna makes it 2-1! The Italian joins defensive partner Diop on the scoresheet as he ghosts in at the far post to sidefoot into the net. That's tough on Wimbledon.
83' Snodgrass works room for a shot after Wagstaff is caught on the ball. A brave block tees up another corner.
82' There is a great noise coming from the home fans. They know how close their side are. Wimbledon have put in a sublime effort, reduced to 10 men after just 18 minutes.
M. Antonio
Lucas Pérez
West Ham United
81' SUB: A West Ham change follows, with Antonio replacing Perez.
K. Appiah
J. Hanson
AFC Wimbledon
79' SUB: Hanson has put in a phenomenal shift. He takes his leave, with Appiah fit again and joining the fold.
78' Hernandez almost turns onto Perez's cross in the area. It's desperate stuff but, with no extra-time, Wimbledon are edging towards a shoot-out.
77' Anderson goes for goal and a deflection earns another corner. Snodgrass again cannot pick out a team-mate.
75' Wimbledon are 15 minutes away from taking this game to penalties. Their prior two meetings with Premier League outfits have ended in defeat. They were beaten by Liverpool in 2015 and Tottenham earlier this year.
74' CHALLENGE! Brilliant from the captain, Oshilaja lunging to prevent Perez from reaching a pinpoint low cross. Wimbledon are clinging on.
73' Anywhere will do for Wimbledon. Zabaleta crosses, then Perez does too. West Ham are hammering on the door. It's still 1-1.
72' West Ham are straight back up the other end, but a Snodgrass corner is cleared once more. Wimbledon have everybody back.
72' Almost a chance for Wimbledon! Trotter gets down the left and he is finally able to offer Hanson some service, the forward just failing to make contact at the back post. That could have been the winner!
71' Wide from Yarmolenko! Diop charges up the right and the winger drifts inside, sizing up a shot but blasting well wide.
70' The delivery is beyond Diop, but Anderson is quickly back on the ball, picking passes and making plays. He is everywhere.
69' Sibbick, who has impressed at right back, nods behind for another West Ham corner...
A. Wordsworth
M. Pinnock
AFC Wimbledon
68' SUB: Pinnock has worked hard on the Wimbledon left and his day is done. Wordsworth comes on.
66' It is all West Ham! Hernandez has two opportunities in the box, the second of which he should really put away. A scuffed shot is easy for King.
65' With the scoreline now 1-1, it's worth noting West Ham were knocked out of this competition on penalties the last time they faced League One opposition. Sheffield United triumphed in August 2014 after the game finished 1-1.
64' CROSSBAR! Diop almost has a second! Anderson forces a corner on the left and Diop clatters the woodwork with a near-post header. He looks to be completely unmarked.
Felipe Anderson
Assist
West Ham United
63' Anderson supplies the pass for Diop, with the substitute starting to move up through the gears.
I. Diop
Goal
West Ham United
63' GOAL!! It's all level! Diop makes it 1-1! The centre-back has time and space to move forward and he blasts through King at his near post from 20 yards. West Ham will fancy their chances now...
62' Yarmolenko is belatedly causing some real problems. A lovely pass into Perez leads to a low blocked cross, before the winger works to keep the move alive. They keep pressing.
61' And another dangerous ball. Whipped in from deep on the right, Hernandez cannot stretch out a toe. West Ham are starting to get a little joy once more.
59' BIG CHANCE! A huge opportunity for Hernandez! Yarmolenko does well on this occasion, getting in behind the left back, and he picks out Hernandez in the middle. Under pressure, the forward turns the ball wide. The goal was gaping.
57' Wimbledon win a rare free-kick at the other end, but it comes to nothing. West Ham are at least temporarily pushed back.
56' CLOSE! Anderson lashes just wide! The corner is cleared, but West Ham work the ball back out to Anderson on the right. He tees himself up and smashes through the ball, fizzing past King's near post.
55' Corner to West Ham on the left. They keep up the pressure.
54' Good stop from King! Hernandez gets on the end of this cross, delivered by Anderson, and a backwards header is well held by the goalkeeper.
53' The theme of the opening 45 minutes has continued. More crosses into the box and Hernandez continues to struggle to have an impact. Wimbledon are on the back foot but remain fairly comfortable.
51' Hernandez cannot hold the ball up in the area and King takes control again. West Ham have made little progress so far in this second half.
49' Anderson goes for the ball in behind for Yarmolenko, but it runs through comfortably for King. The Brazilian has taken up a deep role since his introduction, looking to get on the ball whenever possible.
48' Clever from Hanson to buy a foul from Snodgrass, who appeared to be hindered by the presence of the referee, providing Wimbledon with some early second-half relief.
47' West Ham are straight back on the attack. Cresswell gets in down the left and crosses low, but it's easy for King.
46' KICK-OFF: Off we go again! Wimbledon get the second half under way.
Felipe Anderson
Pedro Obiang
West Ham United
46' SUB: An attacking change for the visitors. Anderson replaces Obiang.
Surely West Ham are going to take one of these chances soon. Yarmolenko has been particularly wasteful, but the Ukraine international keeps putting himself in the right areas. Wimbledon have another 45 minutes to hold on.
Could we have a shock on the cards? Wimbledon scored early through Pigott, but they have been clinging on since McDonald's foolish second yellow card.
45' + 3' HALF-TIME: AFC Wimbledon 1 West Ham 0
45' + 1' There will be three minutes of stoppage time, as the ball ricochets around the West Ham box. A blocked shot bounces clear.
45' Brilliant work from Trotter allows Wimbledon some relief. He comes under pressure from Obiang on the edge of his own area but spins the West Ham man and moves the ball out to the left and safety.
43' AND AGAIN! Yarmolenko so nearly gets it! A looping header beats King, but Nightingale is on the line to head clear. Wimbledon are struggling now.
42' CLEARED! He still can't get a goal! Yarmolenko is in on the right and goes for the pass instead of the shot, allowing Wagstaff to smash to safety.
41' And more cheers! Yarmolenko is caught offside on the wing at the end of a lengthy West Ham move. He is having a tough time out there.
39' The set-piece is dealt with and so too are the subsequent crosses. Every clearance is cheered by the home supporters. West Ham build again.
38' Snodgrass gets the ball in a dangerous position on the left, but his cross is nodded away. West Ham keep the pressure up and Zabaleta wins a corner on the right.
37' West Ham have 10 men in the Wimbledon half, but they are simply moving the ball back and forth. Wimbledon's hard work is ensuring chances are at a premium.
35' It's just not working for West Ham. Wimbledon's belated ambition allows the visitors to counter, but they twice overrun the ball. Perez takes the ball out of play.
34' Hanson continues to do good work for his team, winning flick-ons. Pinnock claims possession and a series of throw-ins down the left.
33' High and not so handsome from Rice. Impatient at the slow build-up, he lashes over the top from close to 30 yards.
31' West Ham deal with the high ball competently this time. The counter is sluggish, though, and Wimbledon have men back. Snodgrass heads for goal from the left and finds King's grateful arms.
30' Wimbledon take control for the first time since the red card. Pinnock dances past Zabaleta and gives the hosts another throw-in opportunity.
29' Diop has had a far from comfortable outing thus far. Hanson jumps with the centre-back and catches him with an arm. Diop takes a minute to get back to his feet.
28' After a very open spell, Wimbledon are doing a better job at keeping West Ham at a distance. There is no way through right now.
W. Nightingale
J. Pigott
AFC Wimbledon
26' SUB: Pigott's night was short and sweet. He makes way for Nightingale as Wimbledon look to get another defender on the pitch.
25' Hernandez heads wide! West Ham's possession belatedly leads to a ball into the box, but Obiang's cross is behind the forward and he cannot turn it on target from 15 yards.
24' Very sloppy from West Ham. Zabaleta almost lets Pigott in on the right with an overhit pass. Ogbonna just about recovers. The Hammers are dominating right now.
22' CHANCE! Just as Wimbledon possess a threat from set-pieces, so do West Ham! Snodgrass' brilliant corner is just beyond Ogbonna and Yarmolenko, of course, cannot react at the back post.
22' To Yarmolenko's credit, he keeps asking for the ball. A cross from the left allows him to win a corner by the flag.
20' West Ham are well on top, but Yarmolenko continues to endure a torrid time. Is this a cross? A shot? From out wide on the right, he sends the ball sailing behind for a goal kick.
19' CLOSE! Cresswell steps up to take the free-kick on the edge of the box and sends it narrowly wide. Wimbledon, after their bright start, are in a little trouble.
R. McDonald
Yellow 2nd/RC
AFC Wimbledon
18' RED! McDonald is off! A lightning West Ham break sees a big switch seemingly feed Hernandez until he is pulled down. Already booked, the defender is shown a second yellow.
17' Chaos in the West Ham area again! They are saved by the linesman once more. A free-kick from the left concerns the visitors and Wimbledon win the ball in the air time and again until Oshilaja, in an offside position, sidefoots into the net.
16' Save again! Another simple one for King from a low Yarmolenko strike. Wimbledon must be wary, though, as surely the visitors will find their range eventually.
15' This is another improved West Ham spell. Perez crosses twice from the left but cannot pick out a team-mate. The ball breaks to Obiang, but a low drive is straight at King.
14' BIG CHANCE! Yarmolenko should have his first goal in West Ham colours! He's made a mixed start to this game and, slipped in by Hernandez, the winger blazes high and wide from a great position on the right.
13' And Snodgrass immediately causes problems! He gets down the left and crosses towards the back post, where Yarmolenko is just a couple of yards behind the play.
R. McDonald
Yellow Card
AFC Wimbledon
13' YELLOW: A second caution, a first for Wimbledon, as McDonald clatters into Snodgrass. The West Ham winger slowly picks himself back up.
11' A foul lets West Ham off this time. Pigott is the guilty party, but Hanson again won the ball in the air. The Hammers are struggling in their own box.
Pedro Obiang
Yellow Card
West Ham United
11' YELLOW: Obiang goes into the book, seemingly for dissent.
10' Hartigan sets off on a run down the left and he wins a corner, allowing Wimbledon to prepare another aerial attack.
9' Perez goes down very easily in the area and half turns towards the official, looking for a penalty. The home fans boo and there is no call.
8' The flag was up anyway, but Wimbledon go down the other end and nearly have their second! Their latest long throw causes yet more problems, before a cross is drilled in from the left and Hanson pokes wide. He is just offside.
7' Comfortable save for King, but West Ham are just enjoying a first bright spell. Zabaleta overlaps on the right and crosses towards Snodgrass, who can only loop a tame header into the goalkeeper's hands.
6' Yarmolenko gets on the ball for the first time on the right for West Ham. He looks to move the ball into the box, via Perez, but Wimbledon close out the space.
5' Jeers from the home crowd as Cresswell's attempt at one of those long balls goes out of play. Wimbledon are keeping up the pressure.
4' Half-hearted penalty appeals. The throw is launched into the feet of the lively Pigott, who turns and falls as he attempts to shoot. The referee is not interested.
4' After the first long ball caused such chaos, Wimbledon are not shy about repeating the tactic. Their latest effort leads to a throw-in on the right.
M. Pinnock
Assist
AFC Wimbledon
2' It was Pinnock who delivered from the left, giving Pigott the opportunity to attack the ball. He certainly did that.
J. Pigott
Goal
AFC Wimbledon
2' GOAL!! What a start! 1-0 to Wimbledon! Pigott rises highest from the set-piece and thumps a header past Adrian, whose right hand only helps the ball into the corner. West Ham are on the ropes already.
1' A nervy start from West Ham! A long ball into their box bounces around, with Hanson causing problems, and Adrian cannot prevent the corner.
1' KICK-OFF: We are up and running! West Ham get the game started.
A worrying statistic for Wimbledon perhaps: at Manchester City, Pellegrini won his four matches against non-Premier League sides in this competition by an aggregate score of 19-2.
Five changes for Wimbledon. Nine for West Ham! Only Diop and Snodgrass keep their places for the visitors.
SUBS: Lukasz Fabianski, Fabian Balbuena, Arthur Masuaku, Josh Cullen, Nathan Holland, Felipe Anderson, Michail Antonio.
WEST HAM (4-2-3-1): Adrian; Pablo Zabaleta, Angelo Ogbonna, Issa Diop, Aaron Cresswell; Declan Rice, Pedro Obiang; Robert Snodgrass, Andriy Yarmolenko, Lucas Perez; Javier Hernandez.
SUBS: Joe McDonnell, Ben Purrington, Will Nightingale, Terell Thomas, Kwesi Appiah, Andy Barcham, Anthony Wordsworth.
AFC WIMBLEDON (4-4-2): Tom King; Toby Sibbick, Adedeji Oshilaja, Rod McDonald, Tyler Garratt; Scott Wagstaff, Liam Trotter, Anthony Hartigan, Mitchell Pinnock; James Hanson, Joe Pigott.
A cup run could spell a change in fortunes, so let's take a look at which players Pellegrini - a winner of this competition in 2013-14 and 2015-16 - has entrusted with a potentially tricky task...
The Hammers invested heavily in the transfer market, yet they are the only Premier League side not to take a single point from their first three games of the season.
Wimbledon are playing at this stage for the first time since the club's formation and they have the opportunity to pile more misery upon Manuel Pellegrini as he endures a difficult start to life at West Ham.
