    Aside from the convincing win and a hefty scoreline, Mazembe put on a masterclass in possession football.

    The Congolese giants enjoyed 69.6% of the ball to Simba's 30.4% in the first half. 

    Simba did make amends in the second half, enjoying 54.2% of the possession, but the overall match possession - 58.2% - favoured Mazembe.

    They also made far more passes than their opponents, making 429 with a success rate of 83.5%, compared to Simba's 309 (78.6% success rate) passes.

    #2 Tresor Mputu impact

    Mazembe's midfield stalwart Tresor Mputu was impressive in their attacking play as he created eight of the Ravens' 25 chances on the day. 

    Mputu was the player who created the most chances in the encounter. 

    No player on the field had more successful dribbles than the 33-year-old.

    The playmaker, who also notched an assist, completed an impressive 18 dribbles with a 100% success rate.

    #3 Simba's saviour: Manula

    Goalkeeper Aishi Manula was perhaps Simba's best player on the field. The 23-year-old was certainly the busier of the two goalkeepers, facing 30 shots, and made 10 saves compared to his opposite number with five shots faces and two saves made.

    #4 Mazembe's hunger

    Mazembe were certainly up for the challenge, making 17 tackles to Wekundu wa Msimbazi's nine - Zambian defender Kabaso Chongo did not only get on the scoresheet, he also contributed five tackles, the most by any player on the field.

    #5 Mazembe eliminate Simba to reach semis

    Tout Puissant Mazembe made the most of the home advantage in the second leg of their Caf Champions League quarter-final meeting with Simba Sports Club.

    The Ravens produced a dominant display to resign the Tanzanians to a convincing 4-1 defeat to reach the semi-finals of the premier continental club competition for the 12th time.
