The 27-year-old midfielder believes the Hammers can have a strong campaign this season with the new additions and players returning from injuries

Andre Ayew believes West Ham United can have a solid season based on the strength of the squad and with the new acquisitions acquired during the course of the summer.

The Ghana International who has been training with the new signings is excited with their options in attack. The English top flight club side signed Marko Arnautovic and Javier Hernandez – with Andy Caroll, Diafra Sakho and Michail Antonio very close to match fitness and Manuel Lanzini supplying the creative spark.

With the new season close to kickoff, the midfielder believes the London Stadium outfit can mount a serious challenge in the English Premier League because of the different options available within the squad.

It’s good and I’m happy to see these good players coming in,” Ayew told club website

“I think we have a good squad, but now we have to do the job on the field and that’s another thing altogether.

“We already had good players in the squad and now we’ve added some more good players, so that’s really important for a club like West Ham to get to another level.

“I feel like we are going to be capable of doing good things but we need to stay humble, work hard and don’t think we have done it before time.”

Slaven Bilic's side kicks off their campaign with a visit to Old Trafford to tackle Manchester United on August 13.
