The power men have now opened a seven-point gap at the top of the lower table after downing stubborn Nairobi City Stars

Western Stima took full advantage of slip ups by rivals Nairobi Stima and Ushuru to open a seven-point gap at the top of the table after downing stubborn Nairobi City Stars at Moi Stadium, Kisumu.

The lone goal came in the 45th minute courtesy of John Oruko, who capitalized on defensive lapses to hand his team what turned out to be the winner. It is a huge win for the Kisumu-based side following barren draws for Ushuru against Kangemi All Stars and Nairobi Stima against Bidco United respectively.

At Camp Toyoyo, Talanta FC failed to capitalize on the home ground to draw 2-2 versus visiting GFE 105.  Shem Odinga gave the hosts a deserved lead with four minutes gone, but about five minutes later, 19 year old Bernard Odhiambo leveled the scores from a free-kick.

Job Tinyo thought he had won it for Talanta in the 60th minute with a well taken strike, but substitute Ayub Asilah ensured the visitors go home with a point against all odds.

In other results, a Rodgers Okumu 1st minute strike handed visitors Coast Stima a 1-0 win against relegation threatened Nakuru All Stars with Modern Coast Stima beating Kibera Black Stars 2-1.
