Ushuru FC are out to end promotion jinx with a short journey to Camp Toyoyo where they will play host to Administration Police in the opening match of 2018 National Super League.

The taxmen, who missed out on automatic promotion on the last day of the season after losing out to Vihiga United 1-0, need to start the season on a winning note to ensure their promotion quest stays afloat.

Speaking ahead of the match, Ushuru FC coach Ken Kenyatta remains confident of a successful year that will culminate in automatic promotion to the 2019 Kenya Premier League.

“Missing out on promotion by a whisker left a bad taste in our mouths and we are keen to wash the taste of defeat out of our mouths starting with our first game against Administration Police.”

The policemen, who finished 17th in the last campaign enjoy a 4-2 head to head advantage over Ushuru FC in the 6 matches they have played together with the taxmen winning in both matches of the 2017 campaign.

Coach Kenyatta feels his boys are ready to arrest the police having beefed up his squad in the transfer window with a blend of youth and experience.

Notable faces will be former Gor Mahia striker Abwanda and Poster Rangers star John Macharia, who brings much needed experience to coach Kenyatta's ‘cabinet’.
