Josep Gombau's recruitment for next season has continued with the Western Sydney Wanderers soon to confirm the signings of Melbourne City attacker Nick Fitzgerald and Adelaide full-back Tarek Elrich.
The Covert Agent can reveal the Wanderers coach is keen to improve the squad on the flanks, with their wide play being a source of concern this season, and the impending departure of winger Chris Ikonomidis back to parent club Lazio.
Fitzgerald's hard-working nature and versatility will suit Gombau's style of play as the Spaniard attempts to rejuvenate a club still struggling from the loss of their inaugural coach Tony Popovic.
The 26-year-old started the season on fire for City with two assists in his first two matches, earning the interest of premiers Sydney FC, but has only set up one more goal in his subsequent 20 appearances.
It is also understood the acquisition of Elrich on a two-year deal will be announced shortly, with rumours persisting over the past few weeks of a return for the former Wanderer.
The 31-year-old completed an emotional return for the Reds from a serious knee injury in last week's 5-2 win against Newcastle.
The duo are Gombau's third and fourth signings for next campaign - with the Covert Agent exclusively revealing the acquisitions of Melbourne City pair Bruce Kamau and Ruon Tongyik in February.
