The influential forward makes his first Premier League appearance since last featuring in the 2-0 win over Sunderland last November

Philippe Coutinho is set to make his first Premier League start for Liverpool since last November when they take on Swansea City, while Joel Matip is restored to the squad after gaining clearance from FIFA.

Why Man Utd must sign Griezmann

The Brazilian ran out from the off in the FA Cup replay win at Plymouth Argyle in midweek after gaining minutes during the club’s previous two fixtures against Southampton and Manchester United to build his match fitness.

The 24-year-old’s presence in the starting XI will no doubt lift the Reds, who are also able to name Matip on the bench after world football's governing body ruled in his favour following a dispute with Cameroon

The Indomitable Lions wanted the centre-back banned from club football during the Africa Cup of Nations after his refusal to represent them at the tournament.

But having not featured for the national team since September 2015 with his self-imposed exile communicated on several occasions, FIFA found the 25-year-old had no case to answer on Friday and could be considered for Liverpool selection immediately.

It is Matip's first involvement since the 2-2 draw with West Ham as the defender dealt with a troublesome ankle before the AFCON debacle.

There’s a further boost for Klopp at the back with Nathaniel Clyne returning after sitting out the last two games with a rib/abdominal issue.

Walker and Rose on City's radar

Jordan Henderson, meanwhile, has shaken off a problem with his heel to lead the club out for the 50th time in the league.

New Swansea signing Martin Olsson has been drafted straight into the side four days after joining the side from Norwich City, with Paul Clement also handing former Tottenham midfielder Tom Carroll his club debut.

Gylfi Sigurdsson supports Fernando Llorente in attack, meanwhile, as the Welsh side attempt to win back-to-back Premier League games on the road for the first time since May 2015.
