Super Cup clash between Gor Mahia and Kariobangi Sharks pushed forward

The 2018/19 Kenyan Premier League season curtain raiser match between Gor Mahia and Kariobangi Sharks have been brought forward by a day.

The Super Cup that pits the Kenyan Premier League and the Shield Cup winners has been pushed back by a day.

The match was earlier scheduled for the December 2 but will now kick off a day earlier. This is after K’Ogalo tabled a successful request for the tie to be re-arranged to allow them ample time to prepare for the return leg of the Caf Champions League preliminary round against Nyasa Big Bullets of Malawi.

Gor Mahia CEO Lordvic Aduda has been quoted on the club's official portal saying the move was necessary. "We will be having the return leg against Nyasa Big Bullets on the 4th of December and there was a need to present our request to the Football Kenya Federation to have the Super Cup match which was planned for 2nd December be rescheduled.

“We are happy that our request has been considered and the match will now be played on the Saturday 1st of December at the Kasarani Stadium."

Sharks have never beaten Gor Mahia at regular time, and their first triumph came last season in the Shield Cup quarter final in a post-match shootout.
