Sammy Ameobi nominated for the English Championship player of the month

The 25-year-old scored three goals in four games for the Whites which has earned him a nomination for the Skybet Championship October’s award

Bolton Wanderers winger Sammy Ameobi has been nominated for the English Championship player of the month award.

The Anglo-Nigerian who missed the start of the season due to an ankle injury scored on his return in the 2-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday on October 14 to end a ten-month barren spell.

And the ex-Newcastle winger scored twice more in the Whites draw against Sunderland and Fulham to help Phil Parkinson’s side end the month unbeaten.

And the impressive form has seen him nominated for the monthly gong alongside Bruno Ecuele Manga (Cardiff City), Lewis Grabban (Sunderland), Massimo Luongo (Queens Park Rangers), Leo Bonatini and Diogo Jota (Wolverhampton Wanderers).
