Rivers United's Ovoke targets maximum points against KCCA

The winger says the Pride of Rivers are out for maximum points against their Ugandan foe in Tuesday's Caf second tier championship

Rivers United winger, Benard Ovoke is disappointed with their slim defeat to Lobi Stars at the Aper Aku Stadium on Friday night.

A late minute goal from substitute Barnabas Imenger earned the home team a 1-0 victory over the Pride of Rivers, but the forward claims the center referee’s calls denied them at least a point in that encounter.

Ovoke further explained that they have shifted focus to their Caf Confederation Cup clash against Kampala Capital City Authority FC at the Liberation Stadium, Port Harcourt on Tuesday night.

“We did our best against Lobi yesterday evening, but with all our efforts, the referee did not help matters with his officiating,” Ovoke told Goal.

“We will surely not allow the defeat affect our game on Tuesday, as every game comes with its unique style and approach.

“And we are going all out to claim maximum points in this game because we really need the three points and we are already working towards that.” He continued.

“I’m not satisfied with my goals tally at the moment because set a-20 goal target for myself in all competitions this season and I’m not anywhere near that, so I must continue to work hard to achieve my target starting from our game against KCCA.”
