The German-born Ghanaian is headed for Serie A outfit Sassuolo, according to latest transfer rumours

Ghana international Kevin-Prince Boateng is set for a sensational move to Italy after just one season with German outfit Eintracht Frankfurt, reports say.

The 31-year-old has been linked to Serie A side Sassuolo, with personal terms said to have been already agreed for an imminent switch.

According to reports, there is a three-year deal on the cards in a transfer that will mark his return to Italy, two years after leaving AC Milan for Spanish club UD Las Palmas.

Boateng joined current side Frankfurt in summer last year after terminating a permanent three-year contract he signed with Las Palmas just three months earlier following an initial one-year deal.

In Germany last season, the attacker made 31 Bundesliga appearances involving 27 starts and scored six goals as Frankfurt finished eighth on the log.

He also played a crucial role to help The Eagles win the German Cup.

He has two more years left on his contract.

Boateng had two separate spells with Milan between 2010 and 2016.

In his first, he spent three years with the Rossoneri, winning the Serie A title in 2010-11 and the Super Cup in 2011-12.
