Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang returns to Gabon squad for Mali game

The 29-year-old is back for the Panthers’ 2019 AFCON qualifiers after opting out from their last away fixture in October

Gabon have called up Arsenal forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for this month’s 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match against Mali.

Aubameyang helped Daniel Cousin's men defeat South Sudan on October 12 but missed the team's trip to South Sudan for the return fixture four days later wth no reason stated.

The Panthers lock horns with leaders Mali at Stade d'Angondje in a battle for supremacy in Group C on November 12.

And the Gunners star who has scored nine goals in 14 matches across all competitions this season joins Southampton’s Mario Lemina and Cardiff City defender Bruno Manga in the 23-man list.

A win in Libreville will secure Gabon's spot for the continental showpiece billed for Cameroon next year.
