Perth Glory return to A-League summit after Melbourne City win

Perth Glory have very quickly returned to the top of the A-League after pulling past Melbourne City 1-0 at NIB Stadium to continue their undefeated start to the season.

Despite City edging the first-half, it would be Glory that went into half-time with the lead as Chris Ikonomidis rifled home from close range in the 43rd minute.

While holding their own against Glory, City struggled to carve out any clear chances as Tony Popovic's side looked to lock down the contest in the second-half.

That job was made all the easier in the 80th minute when Curtis Good picked up a second yellow card and left City to finish to game with 10 men.

Glory ultimately grinding their way to another three points as City are given a reality check about what life without Bruno Fornaroli really looks like.
