Osei backs Kotoko to end GPL winless run

Asante Kotoko former coach, Michael Osei, insists he left behind a formidable team which is capable of achieving success.

Osei, who acted as caretaker coach last season following the departure of David Duncan, was relieved of his position in December, following the appointment of Zdravko Lugarusic, who was in turn fired due to a run of poor results.

“When I was leaving Asante Kotoko, I left behind a strong team so I don’t know why the club is struggling now in the Ghana Premier League,” Osei said.

“Results have not been coming like what the majority of the supporters expected but although the club is struggling currently, I’m confident they will bounce back soon. I am sure they will bounce back and start winning their games and make the supporters happy once more.  This is because there is quality in the team and only one victory can change the situation,” he added.

Kotoko after Ghana's 60th anniversary cup defeat to rivals Hearts of Oak, they will play Great Olympics in matchday 14 of the league at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday.
