Orlando Pirates have announced that midfielder Mpho Makola has been transfer-listed whilst the likes of Diamond Thopola and Gladwin Shitolo have been shipped out to Chippa United .

The Buccaneers released a statement on Friday afternoon, saying defender Thembela Sikhakhane will head back to AmaZulu for another loan stint.

"Orlando Pirates management has reached an agreement for the release of Gladwin Shitolo, Phetso Maphanga, Diamond Thopola, and Caio Marcelo to Absa Premiership outfit Chippa United," said Pirates in a statement.

Makola joined the Soweto giants from Free State Stars in 2012 and featured in 19 matches in all competitions last term.

However, he has been used sparingly in the past two seasons, since the arrival of coach Milutin Sredojevic, raising speculation on his future.

The Tembisa-born creative midfielder is likely to have suitors in the South African top-flight and is joined by former Black Leopards star Meshack Maphangule on the transfer list.

"We would like to wish the quartet the very best of luck for the future. The club can also confirm that the following players have been placed on the transfer list: Mpho Makola and Meshack Maphangule," added the Soweto giants.

"Meanwhile, defender Thembela Sikhakhane will be going back to Amazulu on loan for yet another season."

In addition, the club announced that right-back Thopola will return to the Chilli Boys after making his move to Mayfair a season ago.

The Limpopo-born defender failed to command a regular spot under the Serbian manager, who preferred the likes of Ntsikelelo Nyauza, among others.

Thopola could only manage six appearances for the 1995 African champions in all competitions last season, and he is joined by Phetso Maphanga and centre-back Marcelo, as they exit to the Port Elizabeth-based club.

Meanwhile, Pirates have also parted ways with goalkeeper Jackson Mabokgwane, defender Thabo Matlaba, and Abbubaker Mobara as well as winger Thabo Qalinge this week.
