Zoo Kericho midfielder Mark Ongwae is hopeful the team will be a hit in Kenyan Premier League this season.

The former Shabana FC and Nairobi City Stars player joined the league's newcomers on a two year deal. Ongwae says he is happy to join the Kericho-based side and early signs are encouraging. "I am happy to be here, it is a team with ambitions and I want to be part of it. Well, the premier league, as usual, is challenging but we are ready for it," Ongwae told Goal.

"We want to show that we are capable of competing with the big boys and challenge them in all fronts. We have strengthened in many departments and training is intense by the time the league kicks-off, we will be ready."

Ongwae has also turned out for Awasi-based side Muhoroni Youth.
