Nasarawa United's Philip Auta has admitted his side were not at their best following a 2-0 defeat against Niger Tornadoes at the Confluence Stadium on Sunday.

Goals from Musa Wakili and Ebenezer Odeyemi saw Kabiri Dogo's men fall to another defeat away from home against Abubakar Bala's side in a Week 12 encounter.

Despite feeling his side did not do enough, Auta insists the goals they conceded against Ikon Allah in Lokoja were controversial, but insists his team would bounce back in subsequent games.

"It had a good game though we were not happy with the calls of the referee," Auta told Goal.

"I really don't think the first penalty given to the home team was deserved.

"And even the second goal seemed to be scored from an offside position.

"We are all disappointed because we hoped we could take something from the game.

"We played well but it seems we just couldn't take our chances and our best was generally not good enough.

"I think we could have done better in the game but I'm confident we will bounce back in our next match."
