The Nairobi Senator was speaking on Friday after he bailed out the stranded Ingwe with Sh1.6million in order to honour their Super Cup fixture against rivals Gor Mahia at Afraha Stadium in Nakuru on Sunday.

“Because of the current issue that is causing a stalemate, I am able to secure Sh1.6m that is going to the team to offset some of the arrears and allowances and also make a plan on how the rest will be sorted.”

Sakaja also assured club followers that they have secured a sponsor, who will pay more than previous one, and urged them to rally behind the team.

“The issue of sponsorship is sorted out and our supporters should stop getting worried. I am now the patron of the team and my father also used to support AFC Leopards. So I am taking the same route. The team is psyched up and geared to go and also win the Super Cup.”

Sakaja is confident that Ingwe will prevail over K’Ogalo on Sunday. “We have a coach with rich history in Robert Matano and have an amazing team of players and new signings, who have come from all over the continent so our fans should be assured that we will not let them down on Sunday in Nakuru.”

Sunday match will kick-off at 3pm and will be live on KTN.
