Goal brings you a guide to this year's MTN8 tournament following the official release of fixtures by the PSL

The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has released official fixtures for this season's MTN8 tournament which include SuperSport United.

The release of the fixtures came hours after the PSL was granted leave to appeal Judge Denise Fishers' ruling to reinstate Ajax Cape Town back in position 15 on the log by the South Gauteng High Court.

This means AmaZulu are out of the top eight bracket while Matsatsantsa keep their place as this was the case when Advocate William Mokhari SC first ruled that Ajax be docked points.

As expected, the format used to pit the teams hasn't changed, and this was just matter of confirming those who will be participating in the tournamet as well as the dates, venues, kick-off times and TV channels.

Last season's champions SuperSport United will be among the teams playing on the opening day of the tournament alongside Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns

Amakhosi remain the most successful  team in the competition with 15 titles to their name.

However, they have won the competition just twice in the last 10 years - 2008 and 2014.

Also with two MTN8 titles under their belts since the new sponsors partnered with the PSL is Pirates, who won it in 2010 and 2011.

Surprisingly, Sundowns have not won this MTN8 Cup in 11 years despite their dominance in the PSL in recent years.

Of the eight teams involved this year's tournament, only Free State Stars, Maritzburg United and Cape Town City have not won the MTN8 trophy.
