Bafana Bafana striker Gift Motupa is looking forward to the new season following his return to Baroka FC on loan from Orlando Pirates.

After scoring in Bafana's 2-0 win over Botswana in the Chan 2018 qualifier over the weekend, Motupa is excited to go 'back home' where it all started for him as a professional footballer.

"I can't wait for the new season to start , as I will be able to play in the PSL week in and week out," Motupa told Daily Sun.

"But in the meantime, we (Bafana) have to beat Botswana on Saturday and qualify for the next round of Chan," he continued.

During his two-year stay at Bucs, Motupa made 34 appearances in all competitions scoring only two goals.

"I believe Baroka can do well in the new season. I am really looking forward to going back, as this goal for Bafana and being selected for the senior national team have really boosted my confidence," Motupa said.

The 22-year-old is happy to have scored for the national team and he aims to do it again in the return-leg at the Moruleng Stadium on Saturday.

"I have scored a lot of goals for South Africa at youth level but scoring for Bafana for the first time was special," he added.

"I aim to do it again when we meet Botswana on Saturday, if I get another chance," Motupa concluded.
