General Secretary Anjan Mitra-led executive committee finally took the decision of accepting former assistant general secretary Srinjoy Bose’s resignation which was pending for the last 3 months. Bose had resigned from his post back in March. Mitra has now appointed Swadhin Mullick as the new assistant general secretary of the club.

Speaking on the development Mitra said, “Every decision has been taken after consultation with our advocate. I have not done anything without consulting him.

The decision of accepting Bose’s resignation hasn’t come as a surprise given the disagreements between Mitra and Bose’s father namely Swapan Sadhan Bose who was the former president of the club.

The disagreement came out in the open during the club’s annual general meeting (AGM) on June 23rd when Srinjoy Bose got involved in a scuffle with Chinmoy Chatterjee who belongs to the Mitra camp. It remains to be seen what would be the next move from Bose.

The other important decisions are, goalkeeper Shilton Paul will be awarded the Player of the Season 2017/18. U-17 World Cup star Rahim Ali and Athlete Hima Das, who recently became first Indian athlete to win a gold medal in track event, will be felicitated on July 29th.
