They were there when Singapore surprised everybody by beating Indonesia in their opening match in the AFF Suzuki Cup.
And for the Lions’ game against the Philippines in Bacolod, they made the arduous ten hour journey all the way to the Panaad Stadium.
Yet such dedication in supporting Singapore is common for the Singapore die-hard (DHF) fans group. Group leader Akbar Hashim has been organising tours to support the Lions since the Malaysia Cup days, revealed he has never missed a game when Singapore plays.
Whether the Lions win, lose or draw is immaterial as providing the national team with morale support is the chief purpose for Akbar and his fan group. His dedication in supporting the team has not gone unnoticed and he was awarded the most outstanding fan by FAS (Football Association of Singapore).
When Singapore take to the pitch in all important fixture against Timor Leste on Wednesday, you can count on the DHF to give them an extra boost, because for them no other team is worth supporting than the Lions.
