Mathare United head coach Francis Kimanzi says he is confident his players will rise to the occasion when the Kenyan Premier League kicks off.

The 2008 champions lost some key players including Robinson Kamura, Whyvonne Isuza and Johanna Erick among others but Kimanzi has expressed his optimism with a belief that the team will register positive results.

AFC Leopards coach speaks highly of team preps

"First of all I will not talk much about players who have left, but I know we have signed good young players who have everything to be successful in the league. We will definitely do our best, and hope to register positive results. We will play well and be competitive on the pitch," he told Goal.

The 'Slum Boys' signed 17 players a majority being youngsters.
