David Moyes has suggested he may keep his powder dry at West Ham in the January transfer window.

The Hammers boss is fearful of making a wrong move in January and may not spend until the summer.

"What I don't want to do, I don't want to spend and waste my money, take a wage up bringing a player in, spend big money and find that actually, I've got it wrong," he told the Evening Standard. "I'd rather I waited and got someone who might be available in the summer."

Paolo Maldini has confirmed AC Milan have been chasing Fikayo Tomori since the summer.

The defender is on the brink of sealing a loan switch, and it is the culmination of a lengthy chase.

Aston Villa are in talks with Marseille over a £15m ($20.3m / €16.8m) deal for Morgan Sanson.

Marseille boss Andre Villas-Boas said at the weekend that there was English interest in the midfielder, and the Telegraph has confirmed it is Villa who are making the move - driven by sporting director Johan Lange.

Edu has insisted Arsenal will make whatever decision is best for Lucas Torreira, as talks continue with Atletico Madrid.

The player has had little playing time on loan at Atletico and has offers from other clubs. Edu says the player's desire will be the deciding factor.

New York City FC have made a $10 million (£7.4m) bid to sign Francisco Cervi, Record reports.

Cervi has 20 goals and 26 assists in 157 all-time appearances for Benfica, having also earned four caps for Argentina.

Both FC Dallas and Orlando City have also been linked to Cervi in recent weeks. 

Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi has paid an emotional tribute to team-mate Mesut Ozil ahead of the midfielder’s move to Fenerbahce.

Mustafi hailed Ozil as the "assist king" as the midfielder prepares for his much-discussed Arsenal departure.

QPR goalkeeper Dillon Barnes has joined Burton Albion on loan, the clubs announced.

Barnes will spend the rest of the season on loan and is expected to fight for a starting place.

The 24-year-old goalkeeper signed for QPR in 2019 and spent the first half of this season on loan at Hibernian.

Mohamed Salah says his future lies “in the hands of the club” at Liverpool.

The Egyptian star says his plan is to remain at Anfield for “as long as I can”, despite ongoing links to Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Mainz have signed midfielder Dominik Kohr from Frankfurt, the clubs announced.

The move will begin as an initial loan through July, with Kohr then making the move permanent on a deal that runs through 2024.

Kohr has previously played for Bayer Leverkusen and Augsburg before joining Frankfurt in 2019.

D.C. United have hired Hernan Losada as the club's new head coach.

The club announced on Monday that Losada will head to MLS from Belgian First Division side, Beerschot, where managed since 2019.

“I’m excited about the opportunity to join D.C. United and to write a new chapter of success with this storied club,” Losada said. “I believe in playing every match to win and in my opinion the best way to do this is to create as many scoring chances as possible every time we step onto the field, through high-energy, vertical attacking soccer. I am looking forward to entertaining our fans and competing."

Micah Richards feels signing a striker in January will propel Manchester City to the Premier League title.

"I think they need a striker, just to put the icing on the cake,” the former City defender said. “And if they get a striker in January, I'll still say Manchester City."

Klaas-Jan Huntelaar is undergoing a medical at Schalke ahead of a move to the club from Ajax.

The forward, who will retire at the end of the season, has answered an SOS from the club who are in trouble at the foot of the Bundesliga.

The 37-year-old has agreed terms and is undergoing a medical, according to Sport 1, ahead of the signing of his contract.

Paris Saint-Germain sporting director Leonardo has admitted that “great players like Lionel Messi” will always be of interest to the Ligue 1 giants, while he remains optimistic on new contracts being agreed with Neymar and Kylian Mbappe.

Leonardo has told France Football: "“Great players like Messi will always be on PSG's list. But this is of course not the time to talk about it, or to dream about it."

Dylan Levitt could be another academy star to leave Old Trafford in January, with Championship and League One clubs asking questions of the Red Devils.

Liverpool may have to dip into the loan market during the January transfer window says Glen Johnson, with the former Reds defender doubting that a proven centre-half can be acquired by Jurgen Klopp.

West Brom are the latest side to be linked with a move to bring William Carvalho to the Premier League.

The Portugal international midfielder, who is currently at Real Betis, has registered on the radar of a number of English teams in the past and the Daily Mail reports that the Baggies have now joined the race.

Inter are, according The Guardian, reluctant to sanction a loan return to Tottenham for Christian Eriksen.

They are keen to part with the Danish playmaker after seeing him struggle in Inter, but a retracing of steps to north London 12 months after a high-profile switch was made would be embarrassing for all concerned.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to keep Jesse Lingard at Manchester United beyond the end of the current transfer window - according to ESPN.

The 28-year-old is determined to leave Old Trafford in search of regular minutes, but the Red Devils head coach is hoping to persuade him, to stay put amid this season's congested fixture schedule.

Lingard has only appeared in three games for United in 2020-21, and has been linked with the likes of Inter Milan, Nice, Tottenham Hotspur, Sheffield United and West Ham United.

Everton, Arsenal and Manchester City are all still tracking Brighton full-back Tariq Lamptey - according to The Athletic.

The Premier League trio have not been put off a potential move for the 20-year-old despite the fact he committed his future to the Seagulls through to 2025 last week.

Lamptey, who began his professional career at Chelsea, has featured in 11 top-flight games for Brighton this season, scoring once.

Arsenal defender in high demand

Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus are all chasing the signature of Arsenal full-back Hector Bellerin - according to Calcio Mercato.

All three clubs have shown an interest in the 25-year-old, whose current contract at Emirates Stadium is due to expire in 2023.

A bidding war between three European powerhouses could erupt at the end of the season, with Camp Nou thought to be Bellerin's most likely next destination due to his past stint in their La Masia academy.

Blues target prolific Norwegian forward

Chelsea are plotting a club-record bid for Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland - according to The Athletic.

The Norway international has a €75 million (£67m/$91m) release clause in his current contract, but it doesn't become active until 2022, meaning BVB will likely demand a much higher fee for a prized asset before sanctioning his departure this year.

However, Chelsea have identified Haaland as a priority target with Frank Lampard eager to add a top forward to his ranks to boost his side's chances of competing for Premier League and Champions League honours.

West Ham submitted a €30 million (£26m/$36m) offer for Sevilla frontman Youssef En-Nesyri at the weekend - according to The Athletic.

It is understood that the Spanish outfit rejected the opening bid, but talks between the two clubs over a potential January deal remain ongoing.

En-Nesyri has scored eight goals in 17 La Liga appearances for Sevilla this season.

Milan are closing in on a deal that will see them sign Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori on loan until the end of the season with a purchase option of £25 million ($34m), Goal can confirm.

Strasbourg defender Mohamed Simakan had been the Rossoneri’s primary target, but the Frenchman, who is also a target of RB Leipzig, needs surgery and will be sidelined for around two months.

Milan have been following 23-year-old Tomori for some time and only a few details of the deal need to be confirmed before the transfer is made official.

Norwich City are set to bring in Greece international Dimitris Giannoulis, reports Sky Sports. 

The defender will arrive at Carrow Road from PAOK on an initial loan deal, with the option to make him a permanent signing for £6.2 million should they win promotion.

Hernan Losada admitted that he is close to joining DC United as the MLS club's head coach. 

“If I had been able to choose, I would, of course, rather have said goodbye after the season," the current Lierse boss stated, per the Washington Post.

"I don’t like to get out of something in the middle, but there was no other way now. It’s a new challenge.

“What made me choose? First and foremost, I think it is a dream for many coaches to work in MLS. I also have to realize that such an opportunity does not come every day.”

The Argentine is a fixture in Pochettino's PSG line-up

Juventus and Tottenham are both interested in signing Angel Di Maria, according to Don Balon.
