Gor Mahia have lost yet another player as they prepare for the new season.
Goal can report that Innocent Wafula will not be a K’Ogalo player after he failed to show up for contract negotiations. Gor Mahia CEO Omondi Aduda has told Goal.com that the player will leave the Kenyan champions in January.
“Wafula is free to join a club of his choice. His contract will end in January and now that he is not available to negotiate for extension, we have no option. We don’t have time to follow a player all the way to Busia. He should be the one keen to extend his stay that as a club we were very willing to negotiate.”
Wafula joined Gor Mahia in 2015 and was part of the squad that won the league title unbeaten. He now becomes the second player to be released by Gor Mahia after defender Karim Nizigiyimana of Burundi.
Nizigiyimana has already attracted interest from top Kenyan clubs among them AFC Leopards, Tusker, Sofapaka and Bandari.
