KPL stays put on their stand to have Muhoroni Youth and Sofapaka in the league

The Kenyan Premier League Limited has accused the Football Kenya Federation for not respecting the law.

Earlier today, in a joint release obtained by Goal, KPL remained firm that Muhoroni Youth and Sofapaka were in no way going to the second division, and that they are rightfully in the top tier, due to sporting achievement.

FKF had earlier on relegated the two sides and promoted Vihiga United and KCB to make the league number be 18 as ruled by the Sports Tribunal.

"FKF must respect the FIFA Principle of Promotion and Relegation under "Sporting Integrity" in the FIFA Statutes which states, 'a club's entitlement to take part in the domestic league will depend principally on the sporting merit,' KPL supports that principle and insists that promotion and relegation must be based on the field and not on dubious decisions in FKF boardrooms," the communique read.

In unison, the KPL has vowed to support Muhoroni Youth and Sofapaka in their petition and is ready to appeal to the relevant authorities and judicial bodies in order to ensure that the two sides remain in the top tier.
