The Changi Boys boss says his side are aiming for a never-ending stay following their away draw against Niger Tornadoes in Lokoja on Sunday

Katsina United are targeting an unending sojourn in the Nigeria Professional Football League, chairman Aminu Balele Kurfi has declared.

Following Bala Nikyu’s resignation, the Changi boys with no substantive coach sealed a 1-1 draw against Niger Tornadoes in Lokoja, securing their first goal and point away from home.

And an excited Balele lauded the players and technical crew for the team's progress, while describing the Kogi state capital as a favourable home.

“The most interesting thing is that Lokoja has been a home for us [Katsina United],” Balele told Goal.

“We have never lost a match here because we won a match here against MFM [ a Federation Cup match] and also won against Kogi United [a Nigeria National League match] last year.

“That's what makes Lokoja our favourable home and I'm happy with the result.

“This is football. We will celebrate it [1-1 draw against Niger Tornadoes] like we did when we had a home draw against Akwa United.

“The former coach [Bala Nikyu] was good. They worked hand in hand and I'm sure he would be relating with the current coach [Baldwin Bazuaye] before the match.

“I'm happy for the draw and I think the players are showing good ambition. I believe the future is bright for Katsina United with their performance.

“I want everyone to know that Katsina is in the [Nigeria] topflight league to stay forever.”
