Kariobangi Sharks goalkeeper trainer Sunil Shah is on his way out of the club, Goal can report.
The trainer did not travel together with Sharks to Djibouti, for the second leg of the Caf Confederation Cup match against Arta Solar set for Wednesday.
Goal can authoritatively reveal that the tactician, under whose watch Sharks have continued to churn out goalkeepers to the national teams, has run out of contract and the club is reluctant to engage him any further.
According to a source familiar with the ongoings, Sunil’s contract ran out in December and Sharks are reluctant to renew the deal citing ‘poor performance’.
“Sunil ran out of contract in December. He was even left behind with team manager Dick Francis traveling to Djibouti as the keeper trainer,” revealed a source within the club.
But that line of argument has since divided the small Sharks house ahead of a crucial Caf Confederation Cup assignment: "On what grounds would one say that Sunil was a non-performer yet we have goalkeepers like Brian Bwire and John Oyemba join Harambee Stars, from the Sharks, under Sunil?” posed another source.
Efforts to get to Sunil bore no fruits as his phone went unanswered.
