It can be done, Michael Olunga rallies Kenyan fans ahead of Ethiopia duel

Harambee Stars can beat Ethiopia, says striker Michael Olunga ahead of the Sunday’s Afcon qualifier.

Stars will host the Walya Antelopes at the Kasarani Stadium, where they just need a win to keep alive their hopes of making it to the 2019 Afcon finals.

But after Harambee Stars settled for a 0-0 draw at a sold-out Bahir Dar Stadium on Sunday, Olunga is convinced that they can maximize on the home ground advantage and hammer the visitors, but with the support of the local fans.

“Like we have said, we just urge our fans to turn up in large numbers on Sunday and support the team. Ethiopia were dangerous and we can’t underrate them, but it will be 90 minutes.

“We can do it. We’ve done it against Ghana and it’s still possible. We are just hoping for the backup from fans and we’ll do our level best.”

The team, on Friday, received Sh25 million from the government with a further Sh50 million bonus up for grabs should they beat Ethiopia.

Kenya are top of the group with four points, same as Ethiopia while Ghana and Sierra Leone are tied on three points.
