The 23-member India squad for the Intercontinental Cup has been named with Ashique Kuruniyan and Laldanmawia Ralte being handed their maiden call-ups to the national side.
Meanwhile, East Bengal winger Laldanmawia Ralte fired in three goals and provided one assist for the Kolkata giants in the I-League. The two are the only notable additions to the India squad which went down to Kyrgyz Replublic in their final AFC Asian Cup qualifier. Midfielder Dhanapal Ganesh and winger Bikash Jairu make way for the two new faces.
Right-back Pritam Kotal returns to the side in place of Nishu Kumar while skipper Sunil Chhetri is back too as expected after his automatic suspension.
Stephen Constantine’s men will take on Kenya on July 4 after the tournament opener before taking on New Zealand on June 8 in their final round-robin game. The top two of the four teams will then progress to play the final on July 10.
