Obafemi Martins is delighted with the support from his club Shanghai Shenhua after suffering an injury to his knee.
The former Newcastle United striker was forced off in Tuesday’s Asian Champions League encounter against Kashima Antler which will rule him out of action for about seven months.
The forward has since travelled to England for surgery but just before then, the players and officials of his club gathered to wish him a quick recovery.
Impressed by the show of solidarity, the striker has taken time on social media to appreciate the support he has received from his club.
“Thanks for the love see you guys soon one love keep the fighting spirit Shanghai Shenhua,” Martins posted on Instagram.
Last week, the former Inter Milan player opened his goal account this term in the Chinese Super League with a hat-trick to help Wu Jingui’s men to a 4-2 victory over Hebei CFFC.
