AFC U-16 Championship 2018 draw on April 25

The draw for the 2018 AFC (Asian Football Confederation) U-16 Championship will be conducted in Malaysia on April 25 (Wednesday). 

A total of 16 teams will be drawn into four groups, with hosts Malaysia and defending champions Iraq to be drawn from Pot 1. Iran and North Korea will also start the draw as Pot 1 candidates.

India are in Pot 3 alongside Yemen, Thailand and Australia. 

In the 2016 edition of the competition held in India, Iraq beat Iran on penalties in the final to secure their first title. 

The top four teams from the competition will take part in the 2019 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Peru as representatives from the AFC. The 2018 AFC U-16 Championship is scheduled to kick-off on September 20, 2018.
