Slaven Bilic has sought to distance West Ham from speculation suggesting that Chelsea goalkeeper Asmir Begovic figures on their transfer radar.

The Bosnia international was hoping to be on the move during the January window, having found game time hard to come by at Stamford Bridge.

With Thibaut Courtois ahead of him in the pecking order, Begovic has been restricted to a bit-part role during his time in west London.

He is eager to find regular minutes once more, having previously impressed at Portsmouth at Stoke City, and was heavily linked with Bournemouth over the winter.

No deal was put in place, as Chelsea made it clear that no move would be sanctioned without a replacement brought in, but the summer will present him with another opportunity.

West Ham have been mooted as a potential landing spot for the 29-year-old, but Bilic insists he is not looking to bolster an area of his squad that already includes Darren Randolph and Adrian.

Fonte fumes over transfer 'lies'

He said in the Evening Standard: “We have been linked with many players in the last three transfer windows, including Chelsea goalkeeper Asmir Begovic.

“In those three windows, though, I have said a few times that the only position in the team I have absolutely no interest in discussing is the goalkeeping spot.

“I was happy — and I am still happy — with Adrian and Darren Randolph.

“If you ask me whether they will both still be here next season, I would say yes.

“You can never be 100 per cent certain in football, of course, and maybe one of them will knock on the door and say he is unhappy but even if that happens, I will try to persuade them to stay at the club.”

Begovic has made just six appearances for Premier League leaders Chelsea this season, with all of those coming in domestic cup competitions.
