The Terriers ended a five-game losing run in the top-flight after securing a 4-1 victory over Eddie Howe’s men in Saturday English Premier League encounter and the Benin international was at the heart of the impressive display.
Mounie was directly involved in three of the goals; laying the opener to Alex Pritchard, scoring the second before his 18-yard shot forced an own goal from Steve Cook.
“Everything was good for me, but I did it for the team,” Mounie told BT Sport .
“We knew we were in a bad position [going into the game] and I gave everything to get the win.
“Even if I didn’t score a goal, it was about the team [getting the win].”
With first-choice spot-kick taker, Aaron Mooy off the pitch injured, the Benin international had a chance to add to his tally in the encounter after Pritchard was upended in the Cherries’ area, but he allowed Rajiv van La Parra to take the penalty for their fourth goal.
“The most important thing was the win, that’s all I am saying.
“Whether I took the penalty or not my performance was already done and it was good.
“Rajiv wanted to take the penalty, so I did it for him.”
Since his summer switch to Huddersfield, Mounie has found the back of the net five times from 18 Premier League matches.
He will be aiming to help his side maintain the momentum when they welcome Manchester United to the John Smith's Stadium for Saturday’s top-flight encounter.
