Hearts of Oak assistant coach Odoom disappointed after Karela United defeat in Ghana Premier League

Hearts of Oak assistant coach Edward Nii Odoom believes they lost to Karela United in the Ghana Premier League as a result of lack of concentration.

On Wednesday, the Phobians took an early lead through Daniel Kordie but a hat-trick by William Opoku Mensah put the final scoreline at 3-1, with Hearts going two games without a win.

"This defeat was an awkward moment for us because we were winning at a point and all of a sudden, we conceded two quick goals," Odoom said.

"I think we made several mistakes including lack of concentration and that resulted in the defeat. We need to start all over again ahead of our next home game but I will plead with the supporters to remain calm and united because this is a young team we're putting together.

"We'll surely recover from our slumber before the big game against Asante Kotoko in matchday 10. We need to amass points in our ambitions to challenge for the league trophy," he added.

Hearts will host Bechem United on Sunday at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium before locking horns with Kotoko in the Super Clash a week later.
